at the edge of a typhoon

There's something of an advisory not to head to school for classes today due to natural phenomena. This... is very new to me and despite my internal clock waking me up at quite an early hour, I can't fall back asleep because watching the rain fall in sheets is pretty awesome. My dorm room isn't exactly the best insulated or soundproofed, and for that, I can hear the wind howling fairly loudly.

I have food and drinks, but I hope this doesn't continue for too long. I have no internet to do anything.

So the typhoon was mostly just sheets of wind and rain and massive gusts of wind. The guys went to "Gen C" and I tagged along since it was either that or waiting in my room during the rainstorm. The professor for Thursday's "Gen C" was apparently stuck on a train from Tokyo, so she didn't arrive until the second period. The actual class was pretty lively and I think I recapped a lot of information. There's a ton of homework but I think I'll be alright once I hunker down to do it. I met up with Ri for lunch, and while I ate a very small Filet O' Fish wanna-be and KARE Croquette, I helped Ri out with an assignment on Southwest Airlines.

I waited around with a bunch of the other students for Japanese Society and Culture, and that class turned out pretty good. It had a lot of interesting information and the professor actually knew what she was doing. The class has a field trip to Tokyo in December, and a smaller trip to do IKEBANA.

After the class, Cameron, Sri, Mike, Han, Linus, and I went out to YOKOHAMA STATION to have some sushi. There was a nice restaurant at the top of the CIAL mall complex over the station. It was absolutely delicious and everything I have wanted from Japanese sushi. There wasn't any wasabi on the counter, due to the fact that it spoils the delicate blend of shoyu and the raw fish. I had exactly four plates, compared to the other guys. I had a minced salmon with mayonnaise boat wrap, a delectible pair of salmon nigiri (adhered to the rice with an amazingly spicy wasabi paste), a single IKURA boat wrap, an UNI boat wrap (which was the second best uni I've ever had), and the best, a trio of tuna, including plain tuna, chu-toro, and o-toro.

Enjoy the pictures :)
